Actress Jennifer Garner has started work on her first screen project since she and husband Ben Affleck announced on June 30 that they were divorcing after 10 years of marriage.
People magazine said Monday that Garner, 43, flew to Atlanta on Sunday to begin production on Sony Pictures' "Miracles from Heaven." The faith-based film is adapted from Christy Wilson Beam's nonfiction book about Beam's chronically ill daughter, who purportedly visited Heaven while unconscious after a fall and was mysteriously cured of her disease.
Garner -- who starred in three studio films last year, and in "Danny Collins" in March -- had been cast in April, shortly before she left for Montreal to star in director Barry Sonnenfeld's "Nine Lives," opposite Kevin Spacey.

Us Weekly added that Garner brought along her and Affleck's three children, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3. The family had vacationed in the Bahamas, where they have property, before the couple announced their breakup.
"Miracles from Heaven" is scheduled to shoot from Monday to Aug. 28, with release scheduled for March 18, a week before Easter. Garner filmed "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" (2012) in Atlanta.
Also Monday, Affleck, 42, issued his first tweet since the divorce announcement, commenting on news related to his humanitarian work on behalf of the war-torn Democratic Republic of the Congo. Affleck thanked Secretary of State John Kerry for appointing former congressman Tom Perriello as Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region of Africa.
